Conservation of a CBS graffiti mural at Röda Sten, Gothenburg

Valand Academy and Röda Sten Konsthall announce the recreation and conservation of a celebrated CBS (Berlin) roller paint graffiti piece in Gothenburg, Sweden. The mural became an instant Gothenburg landmark after it was painted by CBS in the summer of 2004. It was soon painted over but remains imprinted in the memory of many people. Master student of Fine Arts, Valand Academy, Mikael Demitr Lindegren is now recreating the mural using remains of original pigments and photographic documentation.

– If you go to a place with a lot of graffiti paintings you can pull layers of history straight from the wall. Some first tests and colour samples where collected for this project at Röda Sten in the summer of 2012, says Mikael Demitr Lindegren. Inauguration Saturday 26’th of April, 13:00.
