1UP – The Rainbow Wholetrain

In this video, the Berlin-based crew 1UP takes on a full S-Bahn train in a highly coordinated action that pushes scale and execution to another level.

Working in three separate teams, the crew paints the train while it’s in motion. One team covers the right side using fire extinguishers filled with paint, creating fast, wide color coverage. At the same time, a second team mirrors the action on the left side, building up layers of bright tones across the moving surface.

Above them, a third team works the roof — pouring paint from garden water jugs, letting gravity pull the colors down the sides of the train.

The result is a fully covered wholetrain, with paint flowing across every surface. It’s less about precision and more about impact — a large-scale action where coordination, timing, and volume come together in a single moving piece.

To finish it off, a fourth team — just one person — adds the final touch by painting a large silver smiley on the front of the train.
