Hello My Name Is: Ores

Name: Ores
Crew: LME
City/Country: I’m from a small village near Cagliari – Sardinia – Italy
When did you start writing? I’ve started in 1996.

What’s graffiti for you?
With my graffiti i express my creativity, in a few words feeds my vitality also give me the opportunity to meet many people who share my passion.

Influences?
I was influenced about New York graffiti from the 80’s and 90’s, and also North Europe graffiti from 90’s (Phase 2, Zephir, FX, Tats, SUK, TWS..).

Tell us about your city, how is life and graffiti there?
I live in a small village in the province, there is still much ignorance about it. graffiti are still viewed with suspicion, but i don’t give up. However there are good writers in the zone like my crew partners, All Caps crew and more..

What keeps you still writing?
Maybe love for letters.. yes I think so.

What first made you interested in graffiti and how did you end up on that track?
When I saw the first Hall of Fame in New York, reading a fanzine about graffiti .. It was love at first sight, it was back in 1996, and since then graffiti is an integral part of my life.

What trends are you seeing now in the graffiti world that you don’t like?
Honestly? I think internet has destroyed the style.. many peoples open instagram or google like a blackbook to choose their style. It’s not good for new generation. All writers need to study to improve their style. this is the first lesson about it.

What do you do when you’re not painting?
Many things..travel, work, training, go out with my wife.. my friends.. and more.

How would you describe your style?
Compact and strong. I’m doing recently a mix between wildstyle and throwup.. i called it ‘Throwild’.

Can you remember the first piece you did?
For sure! it was a disaster.. small and creepy piece.

Future plans?
I would like to travel around the world for paint every cities that i miss.

Do you adapt your pieces and tags to the spot/surface?
No i don’t. I paint my pieces in freestyle.

What do you think about the new generation of writers in your city?
Unfortunately there aren’t young writers in my city.. Anyway I think young people do graffiti only for fashion right now!

What are the best and worst aspects of graffiti?
The best is to meet friends on the wall.. the worst is waiting weekend to paint the next piece! You know 😉

Who do you paint for?
For myself and for those who love graffiti.

What writers have inspired you?
Many writers, but actually I’m influenced by my crew.

Can you ever feel tired of graffiti?
Sometimes yes, but it doesn’t last long!!

What do you hope people will think and feel when they see your stuff?
I hope people appreciate my stuff.. that perceive the message, that read my name!
