Seen has been a major influence on street artists from the 1970s to the present day. Beginning in 1973 he has painted around 200 wholecars and countless frescos across the New York subway network. Now residing in Los Angeles, SEEN tells of his appearance in ‘Style Wars’ and of his life’s work.

1971 to 1984 was the Golden Age of New York graffiti. Three NY writers, Blade, Lee and Seen are considered around the world as the Kings of Graffiti. Seen, aka Richard Mirando, holds a reputation as the Godfather of graffiti due to his significant role in the influential ‘Style Wars’ documentary.

Watching My Name Go By (1976)

This documentary was made in 1976 for British Television. The music in it was terrible, apart from 2 disco tunes at the end….the latter of which I left in. I replaced the others with tunes that felt befitting for the times and subject matter. Hope you enjoy! – Jadell TDS / T.O. / ROC
