NY Times street artists of Brazil

os-gemeosNew York Times just published a short article about the Brazilian street art/graffiti scene.

“Nunca and Os Gêmeos are among the most famous practitioners of Brazilian street art: their work, which can now be found in cities all over the world, received a kind of institutional seal of approval when the Tate Modern put on a major exhibition of street art in 2008. But they never stopped making art outdoors”, says Rafael Schacter, an honorary research fellow in anthropology at London’s University College. Check out more photos and the full article here.

Outside In: The Story of Art In The Streets is a 30 minutes long documentary about the exhibition with the same name that tock place at MOCA last year. The movie is produced by Patrick Simpson and fetures some of the top names from the street art/graffiti scene, including names like: Fab 5 Freddy, Lee Quiñones, Saber, Revok, Futura 2000, Swoon, Shepard Fairey, Os Gemeos, JR, Craig R. Stecyk III, Chaz Bojórquez, Mister Cartoon och Retna.
