Podcast #015 – Azudemsk (German language)
A few days ago we finally managed to meet the rapper and graffiti writer Azudemsk for a Podcast in Leipzig. Those who deal with hip hop in Germany and at the same time move through Berlin with open eyes will know why they are our next conversation partner. We have already mentioned Azudemsk here and there, either with a new release or graffiti content.
For everyone who doesn’t know him, here are some introductory words: Azudemsk discovers hip hop classically through its big brother. At first only about graffiti – the first cans were ordered and his home town Telgte was explored, followed by campaigns in Münster and soon throughout Germany. In 2007 Azudemsk put the first tracks on the internet and soon found himself in the middle of the Münster rap landscape, which takes place between Skater’s Palace and the artist collective WillRap4Food.
Even then he struggled with increasing attention. Whatever topic will be in our podcast, as well as the balancing act between total anonymity as a graffiti writer and increasing popularity with his music. We also talk about his relationship with eastern Germany, graffiti in Leipzig, his time in London and graffiti history, with which Azudemsk is intensively concerned. There is a photo selection that Azudemsk thinks is quite suitable to underline what has been said.
